For Christians throughout the world, this tour itinerary holds special meaning as it visits some of the most important sites mentioned in the history of Jesus’ lifetime. From birth to baptism to the first recorded miracle the names and historic sites come to life before your eyes.

DAY 01: WELCOME TO ISRAEL! (Sunday Arrival)
Upon arrival, you are met and assisted by our tour representative and brought to your guide. The meeting point on arrival is by the Steimatzky book store in the Main Arrival Hall at the Ben Gurion Airport. From there you will proceed to your hotel in Tel Aviv. D

 

DAY 02: CAESAREA - MEGIDDO - HAIFA - ACRE
Following a delicious Israeli buffet breakfast (which you will enjoy each morning prior to departing for your day of touring), depart Tel Aviv. Drive north along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of this ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Continue to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon. Visit the archaeological excavations at Megiddo, including the well-preserved water supply system. Drive to the beautiful port city of Haifa, nestled on the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the world famous Persian Gardens at the Baha’i Temple. From Haifa, we drive to Acre, capital of the Crusaders for more than a century. Visit the ancient city and harbor before continuing eastwards across the plains of the Galilee to Kibbutz Hotel Lavi, not far from the Sea of Galilee. This evening enjoy an informative and entertaining lecture by one of the Kibbutz members about life in a Kibbutz. B/D

 

DAY 03: TIBERIAS - CAPERNAUM - BANIAS
After a short tour of the Kibbutz grounds we take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Then we will proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves, and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. We continue on to the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount and then drive to the Banias Spring and Waterfall, where Jesus was recognized as The Messiah by His Disciples. Finally, we tour the Golan Heights with its valleys, grazing land and snow capped mountains before returning to Kibbutz Lavi. B/D

 

DAY 04: NAZARETH - BEIT SHEAN
Begin the day with a drive to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee (John 2.1-11). In Nazareth, we shall visit the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well. Next on our program are the Jordan River and the Baptismal site. Continue to Beit Shean, one of the ancient Decapolis cities, and visit the Roman theatre. Continue south along the shores of the River of Jordan. Passing Jericho, we proceed westward and climb to the Golden City of Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

DAY 05: JERUSALEM - OLD CITY
Today we visit the Old City of Jerusalem. Our appreciation of this Golden City begins with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, overlooking the walls of the old city and the ancient Jewish cemetery. Enter the Old City to begin exploring the wonders of Jerusalem. Visit the Church of All Nations. Proceed to Mount Zion to see the tomb of King David and the nearby Room of the Last Supper. Walk through the Cardo, the main street of Jerusalem 2000 years ago. View the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. Walk along the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus carried His Cross. Continue to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. No visit to Jerusalem is complete without a walk through the colorful Arab bazaar (a chance to test your negotiating skills). Visit the garden tomb. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

DAY 06: JERUSALEM – NEW CITY OF BETHLEHEM
Today’s program is dedicated to the new city of Jerusalem. Visit the model of ancient Jerusalem .Continue to Yad Vashem, Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Enter the site by walking along the Street of the Righteous Gentiles, dedicated to the non-Jews that risked their lives in order to save their Jewish neighbors continue to Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptist. This Spanish style church and Mary’s Well is where Mother Mary met her cousin Elizabeth. Proceed to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

DAY 07: DEAD SEA - MASADA
Drive through the Judean Desert to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found in 1947 by a Bedouin boy. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drive along the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, to Masada, the last stronghold of the Jews after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D. Ascend Masada by cable car and visit the food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s Palace. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 08:
Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for your flight back home.

This tour features two of Israel’s most fascinating cities - Jerusalem and Haifa - and offers an excellent sampling of the rich traditions and modern excitement that is present day Israel. While many consider Jerusalem the spiritual and intellectual center of Israel, Haifa, built on the slopes of Mount Carmel, has a history dating back to Biblical times. Each of these cities charms all visitors and offers a sample of Israel’s rich variety.


DAY 01 - Sunday – Arrival
Upon arrival into Ben-Gurion airport you are met and assisted by our tour representative and brought to your guide. The meeting point on arrival is by the Steimatzky book store at the main arrival hall. From there you will transfer to your hotel in Jerusalem for an overnight stay.

 

 

DAY 02 - Monday – Jerusalem of Gold
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Enter the Old City and walk through the Armenian and Jewish quarters to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road. See the Jewish Wailing Wall, the Kotel, and continue to the Christian quarter. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher then proceed to the New City view the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and visit Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the Holocaust.

 

DAY 03 - Tuesday – Masada and Dead Sea
Today you will learn about Masada and the heroic story of the fighters and you will visit the resort area of the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea. Depart from Jerusalem, drive via the Judean wilderness to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the
mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palaces, the synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors roman baths etc. Descend by cable car. Travel along the sea and you will have free time to swim and float in the Dead Sea that many believe has its curative effects. Return to Jerusalem.

 

DAY 04 - Wednesday – Transfer to Haifa
Free morning in Jerusalem for last minute shopping or to linger over breakfast and relax check out of your hotel at noon and transfer to your hotel in Haifa.

 

DAY 05 - Thursday – Acre Tour
6 hours tour of the historic city of Acre. Acre was established 4000 years ago but the Crusaders made it a center and capital city. The old city surrounded by a moat and impressive walls was declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Your visit includes the underground Crusaders city, the Knight’s Halls, a tour of the old port area, and a walk through the old Khan and colorful Bazaar. Return to Haifa in the early afternoon.

 

DAY 06 - Friday – Morning Tour of Haifa
Morning Tour of Haifa, including a visit to the Baha’i Gardens, a walking tour of the German Colony, entrance into the Stella Maris Church, and a visit to the Castra Arts Center. Evening free.

 

DAY 07 - Saturday – Nazareth and Sea of Galilee Tour
Today you will take a full day tour of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee including a visit to the Basilica of the Annunciation, the colorful old market in Nazareth, and the lookout from Mount of the Leap. Travel to the Sea of Galilee to visit Capernaum, the Yardenit Baptismal site at the Jordan River, and the view point from Mount Arbel. Return to Haifa.

 

DAY 08 - Sunday – Departure to USA
Transfer to Ben-Gurion airport for departure.

DAY 03: Tel Aviv - Haifa
Diaspora Museum / Caesarea / Druze villages
Depart Tel Aviv and drive to the Diaspora Museum for a visit. Proceed along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the Crusader city and the Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheatre that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue. Continue via the Druze villages to Haifa. B 

DAY 04: Haifa - Safed - Golan Heights
The tour of Haifa will begin at the summit of Mount Carmel where you will take in a breathtaking panoramic view of the Haifa Bay and Western Galilee. Continue on to the golden domed Baha’i Shrine to visit the exotic Persian Gardens. Proceed to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism, where you will visit the ancient synagogues and the artists’ colony. Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin, then to Galilee for an overnight stay in a Kibbutz. B/D 

DAY 05: Galilee - Nazareth
Start the day with a visit to Tiberias. Drive to Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal Church of St. Peter. Proceed to Nazareth here you will visit the Church of the Annunciation. Drive around the new Jewish town and visit the Arab market. Drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac. B 

DAY 06: Jerusalem: The Old City
Visit the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion and the room of the last supper. Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian Quarter and continue to the Western Wall then walk along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre proceed to Mount Scopus and then to the Mount of Olives for a magnificent panoramic view of the Old City. B 

DAY 07: Jerusalem: The New City
Drive to the Hadassah Medical Center in Ein Kerem to see the Chagall stained glass windows. Continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust and then to the Israel Museum. Visit the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and on the same grounds of the Museum we will visit the Miniature model of Jerusalem as it was 2000 years ago. We will see the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, and the Givat Ram Campus of Hebrew University. B 

DAY 08: Jerusalem - Qumran - Masada - Dead Sea - Jerusalem
Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level stop at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD. Descend by cable car, time and weather permitting, an opportunity will be provided for a swim “to float on” the Dead Sea. B 

DAY 09: Jerusalem
Free day in Jerusalem B 

DAY 10: Jerusalem - Tel Aviv Airport
Transfer to your flight back to North America. B
